St Clement had the privilege to host a First Degree ceremony last night. Several councils showed up and we welcomed six new brothers to the benefits of membership. Thanks to the officers of the respective councils for driving attendance and participation.
Thanks to Gary ( DJ Rapper name “Gary Fuzzy Koppalicious” ) Kopp to keep the juicy tunes going all night long.
What do we do with the money we collect? Many worthy things. This is another example of the causes we support. Thank you for support the Knights so we can support others.
Note to self: We need to get Gary an oversized, clown checkbook, those checks look much better in pictures.

I had the privilege of presenting a check to Sandy Bower, founder of Vet’s Returning Home. The check was funded by the five Councils of District # 24: St. Paul of Tarsus, St. John Vianney, SS John & Paul, St. Isidore, and St. Clement.
Proud to be a Veteran and a Knight.

St Clement hosted a “listening session” last night. Sponsored by the State Officers and attended by a very large geography of the Archdiocese of Detroit. We had just over 90 men show up representing Councils from all over SE Detroit. The State Officers lead a discussion on the programs and activities that are resulting in growing Councils. There was a tremendous amount of discussion and many ideas were offered.
Thank you to Father Steve for allowing us to use the social hall. Many people commented on our beautiful church and it’s facilities. Russ Morgan, thanks for getting the audio and presentation gear in order. And a big thanks to Steve Betka, Lester Ottenwalder, Mark DiPaola, Joe Suminski, Marcel VanDaele and, of course, our very own barista Dan O’Brien for the leading the coffee bar. You guys jumped in and helped just because I asked. I do appreciate you!
