Blessed Solanus Casey Traveling Museum Coming to St. Clement of Rome – November 14–15
A Weekend of Faith, Healing, Prayer, and Inspiration
St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church | Romeo, Michigan
Saturday, November 14 & Sunday, November 15, 2026

The Knights of Columbus Council #7018, in collaboration with St. Clement of Rome Parish and the Capuchin Franciscan Friars of Detroit, are honored to welcome the Blessed Solanus Casey Traveling Museum to our parish on November 14–15, 2026.

This special weekend offers a wonderful opportunity for our parish families, Brother Knights, and the surrounding community to encounter the extraordinary life and spiritual legacy of one of Michigan’s most beloved holy men.

Through historical exhibits, photographs, presentations, prayer, and a special healing service, visitors will discover the remarkable story of a humble Capuchin friar whose unwavering faith, charity, and trust in Divine Providence touched countless lives.

Blessed Solanus Casey – An Ordinary Man of Extraordinary Holiness

Blessed Solanus Casey (1870–1957) spent much of his religious life serving as a porter at St. Bonaventure Monastery in Detroit. His responsibilities were simple: answering the door, greeting visitors, and welcoming those who came seeking help.

Yet through these seemingly ordinary duties, God accomplished extraordinary things.

People traveled great distances to seek his prayers, spiritual counsel, and encouragement. The poor, the sick, the discouraged, and those burdened by life’s difficulties found in him a compassionate servant of Christ. Many reported remarkable favors and healings through his intercession.

Blessed Solanus possessed a profound trust in God’s providence, often encouraging those who sought his help to “Thank God ahead of time.”

These simple words reflected his conviction that God’s love and mercy remain constant, even when we cannot understand His plans.

His life reminds us that holiness does not require worldly recognition, wealth, or great accomplishments. It requires humility, prayer, obedience to God’s will, and a willingness to serve others with love.

As Our Lord teaches us:

“He that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is the leader, as he that serveth.” — Luke 22:26 (Douay-Rheims)

A Special Message for Our Brother Knights – Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Faith

For members of the Knights of Columbus, the life of Blessed Solanus Casey holds particular significance.

Our Order calls Catholic men to lives of charity, unity, fraternity, and faith. Blessed Solanus lived these virtues in a remarkable way, not through grand gestures, but through countless daily acts of kindness, compassion, and humble service.

His example challenges us to look beyond the activities and accomplishments of our council and consider the deeper purpose of our vocation as Catholic men.

We are called not merely to serve our parish and community, but to grow in personal holiness, strengthen our families in the Catholic faith, and help one another on the journey toward eternal salvation.

As Knights, husbands, fathers, grandfathers, and brothers in Christ, we can learn much from this humble friar who spent his life opening a monastery door — and, through God’s grace, opening countless hearts to Christ.

November – A Month to Remember Our Eternal Calling

There is something especially fitting about welcoming this exhibit during November, the month traditionally dedicated by the Church to praying for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

During this sacred season, we remember our deceased loved ones and Brother Knights, pray for the repose of their souls, and reflect upon the Communion of Saints and our own eternal destiny.

Blessed Solanus Casey reminds us that the call to holiness is not reserved for a select few. Every Catholic is called to become a saint.

His life encourages us to remain faithful to the sacraments, persevere in prayer, practice charity, and place our confidence in God’s Divine Providence.

“In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin.” — Ecclesiasticus 7:40 (Douay-Rheims)

Brother Knights – We Need Your Help!

Council #7018 will be supporting this special event by assisting with setup, welcoming visitors, serving as ushers, and helping throughout the weekend.

We are seeking three volunteers for each of the following shifts:

Saturday, November 14

  • 12:00–3:00 PM
  • 4:00–7:00 PM

Sunday, November 15

  • 6:30–9:00 AM
  • 10:00 AM–1:00 PM

This is a wonderful opportunity to put our principles of charity and fraternity into action while helping bring a meaningful spiritual experience to our parish community.

A special word of appreciation goes to Brother Knight Mike Wroblewski, whose dedication and efforts in coordinating with the Capuchin friars and our parish have helped make this special weekend possible.

All Are Welcome – Bring Your Family and Friends!

We warmly invite parishioners, neighboring Knights of Columbus councils, families, friends, and everyone throughout the Romeo community to join us for this special weekend.

Bring your children and grandchildren. Invite a neighbor. Encourage someone who may be struggling in faith or simply needs a reminder of God’s love and mercy.

Blessed Solanus Casey walked the streets of Detroit, serving ordinary people with extraordinary love. His example remains as relevant today as it was during his lifetime.

May his witness inspire us to deepen our faith, grow in holiness, and serve Christ more faithfully in one another.
