St Clement hosted a “listening session” last night. Sponsored by the State Officers and attended by a very large geography of the Archdiocese of Detroit. We had just over 90 men show up representing Councils from all over SE Detroit. The State Officers lead a discussion on the programs and activities that are resulting in growing Councils. There was a tremendous amount of discussion and many ideas were offered.
Thank you to Father Steve for allowing us to use the social hall. Many people commented on our beautiful church and it’s facilities. Russ Morgan, thanks for getting the audio and presentation gear in order. And a big thanks to Steve Betka, Lester Ottenwalder, Mark DiPaola, Joe Suminski, Marcel VanDaele and, of course, our very own barista Dan O’Brien for the leading the coffee bar. You guys jumped in and helped just because I asked. I do appreciate you!
A big “thank you” goes out to Dan Masko for covering the photography portion of our Peach Festival activities. I went over to his house on Monday and harvested the pictures from his camera. Click the image below to see the best of. Thanks to all the brothers that were able to help out, their families and most of all, the kind folks that showed up for dinner and parked with us for one of the days during Peach Festival.
Romeo Michigan Village of Romeo Peach Festival Labor Day Knights of Columbus Charity Community
What a wonderful afternoon. Father Steve custom ordered another beautiful day. I should have him pick some Lottery numbers for me, he’s got an excellent track record. The food was great, the music was great, the beer was cold and everyone came together as one faith community for an afternoon. Imagine if we could invite the whole world to our picnic what a place we’d make.
I’ve uploaded some of the pictures I took. Click on either of the images below and you can see the whole collection. God Bless.
It was an honor to host the other four Councils in District 24 for District Corporate Communion and Installation of Officers last night at St Clement in Romeo. We had a very strong turnout and a lot of help from many to make this a night to remember. Special thanks to State Deputy Kenneth Unterbrink for attending and for District Deputy Gary Kopp keeping all the chickens flying in formation. Father Steve did a wonderful job as celebrant and we all thank him for his time and dedication to the Knights. Finally, the Hero Of the Day award goes to GK Joe Suminski and his delightful wife Susan. They both put in a tremendous effort to make this event look easy.
